Life is a Fashion Show After All

Back in my high school days, I wanted to walk the hallways and go to class looking sleek and sophisticated, outside the relaxed sweats and PJ’s ‘uniform’ that ruled the school. I thought it was cool, most of my friends thought it was cool, but my parents said the same thing to me every day, “Allison, life is not a fashion show. Hurry up and lets go.” Now that those days are long gone, I still want to leave my apartment looking put together and as best as I can be no matter who tells me to hurry up! Not to impress anyone, not to follow any trends but just for my own sanity and it seems I’m not the only one

What About Creating A Digital Transmission Right

July 31, 2010

Bennett Lincoff has been proposing a different kind of solution to the music industry’s online woes for quite some time. Last year, he did a great job picking apart some of the major problems with Jim Griffin’s Choruss plan (which, again, we’ve been told was supposed to launch in January, but we’re still unfamiliar with any universities — let alone the tens of thousands of students — who have signed up for it). However, we haven’t really looked at Lincoff’s own proposal.

Content Leaks: Call The Lawyers, Or Talk To Fans Honestly?

July 30, 2010

You may remember last year all the press attention that came about when a work print of the movie Wolverine leaked out a month or so before the movie was set to be released. At the time, 20th Century Fox went ballistic and all of the talk was about legal threats and getting the FBI involved (in fact, the FBI eventually did arrest someone accused of the leak). However, in our post about the leak, we wondered if a better response might have been to not freak out and call the lawyers, but address fans who were downloading the leak as fans and treat them with some respect.
