Social engineering is the (morally vague) art of tricking someone out of their company’s technical secrets just by talking to them. It often involves deceit and relies on the fact that the weakest link in any computer security system is a human. At Defcon , one of the Capture the Flag contests performed by the attendees involved launching social engineering “attacks,” where contestants were asked to obtain the answers to a bunch of questions that probed into a company’s security defenses

Given that Quora is filled with a ton of great content and practically every other online publication is quoting the answers on the site, I figured that it would be a good idea to start posting Quora questions of the day, focused specifically on Facebook. Today’s question relates to the tension between Facebook and Quora, which has become magnified since the Questions product was rolled out yesterday

Facebook, which has been testing a new feature that lets users pose questions to the entire Facebook community and answer others, is finally launching the product, which it is calling Facebook Questions. The company says it will be including “ask question” as an option in the status box at the top of all users’ home pages, as well as in the search box. Questions are visible to all of the social network’s members—and can be answered by anybody.
