Chatr going live tomorrow?

Chatr Wireless, Rogers venture into pre-paid all you can eat cell and text service, is set to go live tomorrow — July 28th — according to a report filed by Android Headlines. The blog writes that a SIM card will set you back between $5 and $10 (that’s Canadian of course), and the two plans available will be unlimited talk for $35 and unlimited talk and text for $45.

Verizon unveils prepaid option for smartphones

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Verizon Wireless on Thursday started giving smartphone users the option of paying for calls in advance instead of committing to long-term contracts, a move that pits it directly against rivals like Leap Wireless .

Will We Soon Have Gigantic Wireless Hotspots?

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission is poised to take action on “white spaces,” the wireless frequencies between those used by digital television broadcasters, through the implementation of a database designed to prevent interference between wireless device use of white spaces and digital television broadcasts . This could remove the final hurdle for use of white spaces , says the Wall Street Journal, enabling wireless hotspots with far greater range and coverage than today’s Wi-Fi networks.
